Local Mark Selby beat China's Ding Junhui 10-2 to reach the final of the Tour Championship in Manchester on Saturday.
Selby went into the evening session leading 6-2, and expanded his edge in the first frame with a break of 104, before he took another frame to go up 8-2.
The world number three then chalked up breaks of 54 and 58 in the next two frames, while Ding let his chances slip away.
Selby will next face John Higgins, who beat Barry Hawkins in the other semi-final. The 41-year-old Selby will be playing his 37th ranking final and chasing a 25th title.
In their 24 previous encounters, Selby leads the head-to-head record with 16 victories to the Scotishman's eight.
