In an interview with CMG, Sydney Mwamba, executive director of the Policy Monitoring and Research Centre in Zambia, warned that excessive U.S. tariffs could severely impact developing countries, particularly African nations that export raw materials. He noted that higher export costs to the U.S. could slow industrial growth, force business restructuring, increase unemployment and lead to economic stagnation across key sectors in Africa.
