Sporting CP and Braga split the points after a 1-1 draw in their Liga Portugal match in Lisbon on Monday.

Viktor Gyokeres put the hosts ahead with a free kick in the 15th minute, but neither side could find the net again in the first half.

Braga, who came into the game on the back of three consecutive wins, almost leveled in the 64th minute, but the ball was cleared following a scrum in front of the goal.

With 12 minutes to go, smoke from flares lit by fans filled the stadium and caused a delay in play.

After the match resumed, Rodrigo Zalazar's cross found Alonso Cruz Patrao, who equalised for Braga as he headed into the top left corner in the 87th minute.

Joao Moutinho was later sent off for a poor challenge resulting in a second yellow card. Sporting CP dropped to second in the table with 66 points, two points behind leaders Benfica, who claimed a 4-1 win over Porto. Braga remained third.
