China has issued a sharp rebuke against U.S. tariffs, accusing Washington of "robbing Global South nations of development rights." Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian declared Monday that America's discriminatory tariff rates violate WTO rules, destabilize global supply chains, and threaten the global economic recovery – adding they have drawn "widespread international opposition.

As markets around the world wobbled on Monday, Central Huijin Investment announced it has further boosted holdings in ETFs, vowing continued support to stabilize China's capital markets, citing "strong confidence" in A-shares' value and long-term growth.

Besides, on Sunday, China's Ministry of Commerce held a roundtable with over 20 U.S. firms, including Tesla, GE Healthcare, and Medtronic. Vice Commerce Minister Ling Ji vowed to keep China's doors open despite tensions, pledging to protect foreign investors' rights and address their concerns.

On April 5, China published its official stance on opposing U.S. abuse of tariffs, declaring: "The world needs fairness, not domination."

This comes after Beijing unveiled 11 countermeasures last week, including: A 34 percent tariff hike on all U.S. imports starting April 10. A WTO lawsuit against U.S. practices. Export controls on heavy rare earths, and Blacklisting U.S. firms under the "Unreliable Entity List" and suspending imports of U.S. poultry, sorghum, and bone meal. Liu Jiaxin, CGTN, Beijing.
