The clear water and favorable environment at the Dianxi River Wetland in Mile, Yunnan Province has welcomed a flock of egrets. Resting and foraging, the vigorous waterbirds were perfectly reflected on the surface of the river, which was once a stinky ditch before years of conservation efforts. Its successful transformation has set an example for the restoration of polluted rivers and lakes.
