"Alone, I sit in a quiet bamboo glade,

Strumming my zither, my song softly played.

No soul in the deep woods knows I'm here,

Only the moon shines bright and near."

Written by Wang Wei (701–761) during the Tang Dynasty, these lines from "Bamboo Lodge" describe a moment of solitude and harmony with nature. It's a melody played in solitude, heard only by the moon.
