The Shanghai Sharks defeated the Guangdong Southern Tigers 104-103 in overtime (OT) in Game 2 of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) first-round playoffs at home in east China's Shanghai Municipality on Tuesday, tying the series 1-1.

The home team still trailed 103-101 with 1.6 seconds left. The throw-in went from Liu Zheng to Tyler Harvey who had no time to even dribble before releasing the ball over the finger tips of defender. The ball fell right into the hoop as a victories buzzer beater for Shanghai to stay in the postseason.

Harvey, as the biggest contributor to Shanghai's win, dropped 33 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals for his side while playing 47 minutes. Only two of his teammates, Wang Zhelin and Li Hongquan scored in double-digits on the night, which partly explained how difficult it was for them to win at home.

By contrast, Guangdong had six players who scored double-digit points, including all five of their starters. Troy Gillenwater led the roster with 26 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. He went to the free throw line 10 times and made eight shots there. Xu Jie drained five of his 10 shots behind the arc to get 21 points.

The visitors had multiple chances to seal the deal without leaving the opponents any chance to come back but they blew all of them. The biggest chance being given to Hu Mingxuan who was sent to the free throw line in the final seconds during OT, but missed both shots and failed to extend Guangdong's 103-101 advantage.

Game 3 of the series will take place in Dongguan, south China's Guangdong Province, on Friday.
