The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has pledged support for an open, transparent, fair, inclusive, and nondiscriminatory multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization (WTO) at its core, according to a statement released by the SCO Secretariat on Thursday.
The member states reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the WTO-centered multilateral trade system to effectively tackle global trade challenges, the statement said.
They also stressed the importance of advancing discussions on development issues within the WTO framework and called for open, inclusive, sustainable, and resilient global supply chains, according to the statement.
