The 16th edition of the Tour of Hainan cycling competition wrapped up on Friday in Sanya, south China's Hainan Province. Alexander Salby of Li-Ning Star won the stage and the yellow jersey keeper Solution Tech Vini Fantini's Kyrylo Tsarenko claimed the general championship.
As the final stage of the event, the fifth stop started from Dongfang, went through Ledong and ended in Sanya, covering a total of 182.8 kilometers. Salby rose to lead in the final sprint and topped the stadium in 4:18:03. He revealed after the race that he had promised his girlfriend he would claim victory at this stage.

Tsarenko stayed with the leading during most time and finished in the 28th place, a result that enabled him to finish as the general champion in 19:28:45. He sounded very surprised at his victory.
"It all feels a bit chaotic and exciting at the moment," Tsarenko said. "I don't even know how this happened. I came here to collect points and raise my rankings. I never thought I could win it. So, I really don't know what to say. It's a tough competition. At first I didn't believe we could keep the yellow jersey for two straight days. But we did it. It's more perfect than perfect."
Vadim Pronskiy from the Terengganu Cycling Team secured the blue jersey as the best Asian Rider.
