The Space Needle, an iconic landmark and one of the most photographed architectural structures in Seattle, U.S., was built as the representative cultural centerpiece for the 1962 World Expo, symbolizing humanity's aspirations for the Space Age. The Space Needle hosted about 2.65 million visitors during the expo, according to its official website. Today, it has become a popular sightseeing destination, as its saucer-shaped "top house" offers 360-degree panoramic views.
