China and Vietnam are connected by mountains and rivers and share a profound and enduring friendship. As the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative aligns with Vietnam's development strategies, the two sides have expanded cooperation in cultural exchanges, infrastructure development and technological innovation among other fields. Through China's continuous opening up, efforts to promote traditional culture globally have advanced over the years. Chinese shows and films have been circulating in Vietnam for over 30 years, generating phenomenal public attention.

CGTN Stringer recently hit the streets of Hanoi and asked the locals to share their take on Chinese dramas and their cultural impact. Nguyen Kim Ngoc, a local employee said, "Chinese dramas are actually very popular in Vietnam. They air during prime time. They were even more frequent before.”University student Nguyen Hoang Trung shared, "Watching Chinese dramas helps us better understand Chinese culture, history, lifestyle, people and cuisine."
