Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr celebrates after scoring his team's first goal against Al-Riyadh in a Saudi Pro League match at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, April 12, 2025. /VCG
Cristiano Ronaldo's brilliance was on full display as he scored two goals, including a stunning volley, to lead Al-Nassr to a 2-1 comeback victory against Al-Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League at home on Saturday.
Al-Riyadh struck first, taking the lead just before halftime when winger Faiz Selemani capitalized on a rebound from goalkeeper Bento's save, slotting the ball home to make it 1-0.
The second half, however, belonged to Ronaldo. He leveled the score for Al-Nassr with a straightforward finish following a clever cross from Sadio Mane. Moments later, the Portuguese superstar completed the turnaround with a sensational volley that soared into the top corner, putting Al-Nassr ahead 2-1.
In stoppage time, Ronaldo nearly turned provider for teammate Jhon Duran, but the Colombian's shot sailed over the crossbar. That miss became a point of concern when Al-Riyadh substitute Enes Sali rattled the post with a curling effort shortly afterward.
Al-Nassr ultimately held on for the 2-1 victory, marking their 17th league win of the season. They currently sit in third place, eight points adrift of leaders Al-Ittihad.
