Sixteen-year-old Guo Muye of China secured his second gold medal at the Artistic Swimming World Cup in Somabay, Egypt, after winning the men's solo free final on Sunday.
Guo showed strong artistry and execution in his performance to the tune "Setting out on a Campaign." He received an overall score of 196.7401 points to make his second trip to the top of the podium, after earning his first title in the men's solo technical final.
"I had a training session with my other teammates early in the morning and I think I was in good form, but I felt a bit worried, as I was very tired after the previous day's competition," Guo said. "I performed to the theme 'Setting out on a Campaign', and the difficult point is to execute the movements artistically. That is a new challenge for me, and I give up seven points, as I did not do well on artistic expression."
Italy's Giorgio Minisini came in second with 48.6500 points, and Colombia's three-time World Championships medalist Gustavo Sanchez completed the podium in third place.
