The Yingxian Wooden Pagoda in Shuozhou in north China's Shanxi Province has welcomed a group of furry residents, known as the "Pagoda Guardian Cats." Originally strays, they gradually settled in the area thanks to kind tourists who fed and interacted with them. They are also believed to have helped scare off pigeons and rats that could harm the cultural heritage. Over time, these cats have become beloved fixtures and unexpected internet celebrities at the site.
