Shuhei Aoyama, a Japanese architect who has lived in China for 20 years, gained fame in 2015 for appearing on a popular TV show where he redesigned a hutong living space. His work now spans the revitalization of old urban districts, commercial areas and even international projects. With the 2025 World Expo taking place in Osaka, CGTN's Yang Yan spoke with Shuhei Aoyama to gain his insights on the relationship between humans and architecture, as well as the role of the World Expo in fostering international communication.
