Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, bid farewell to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam on Tuesday.
Xi said that although the visit was short, it achieved substantial outcomes. During the visit, both leaders reaffirmed their political commitment to advancing the cause of socialism and expressed expectations to comprehensively promote bilateral strategic cooperation. They also discussed their shared stance on resisting external risks and challenges, as well as safeguarding regional peace, stability and international justice.
"I have full confidence in the prospect of China-Vietnam relations," Xi said. "Both sides should fully implement the achievements of this visit and continue to advance the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future."
To Lam stated that Xi's visit had produced fruitful results and that the two sides had reached a series of important consensuses that have strongly propelled the strategic cooperation between the two parties and two countries, enhanced Vietnam's confidence in overcoming risks and challenges, and elevated the friendly ties between the two peoples to new heights.
He added that Vietnam would actively implement the outcomes of the visit, foster the continued development of party-to-party and state-to-state relations, and create a common prosperous future for the two nations.
