We Talk: Why do Vietnamese people love Chinese TV series?

A signed article by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China, titled "Building on past achievements and making new advances in pursuit of shared goals," was published on Monday in Vietnam's Nhan Dan newspaper during his state visit to the country.

The article highlighted the popularity of Chinese films, television productions and video games among young Vietnamese, noting an increasing number of people in Vietnam learning Chinese. CGTN interviewed residents in Da Nang to explore why Chinese films and TV series are so popular locally. One resident, Tung, explained that many Chinese films and TV series feature historical elements, and the culture depicted is highly engaging for viewers.
