China's No. 1 Li Haotong and Spaniard Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra remained tied atop the leaderboard for a second straight day after the third round at the Volvo China Open in Shanghai after both men carded a two-under-par 69 on Saturday.
Having made three birdies over his first eight holes, 2016 champion Li was on his way to taking the lead at 13-under.
After making the turn at three-under 32, the Hunan native dropped his first shot of the day when he bogeyed the par five 10th hole. He quickly rebounded with a birdie at the next before dropping another shot on 12. From there, he played par golf back to the clubhouse.
Li's total of 12 under was matched by the in-form Chacarra. The Spaniard rolled in a birdie putt on 14 to join Li at 12-under at the $2.55 million tournament.
Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat shot a six-under 65 to move up the leaderboard to third place.
Finland's Tapio Pulkkanen, who led or shared the lead over the first two rounds, shot an even-par 71 to sit tied for fourth with China's Dou Zecheng and German Yannik Paul, two shots off the pace. Li and Chacarra will be paired together in Sunday's final round of the 30th national championship at Enhance Anting Golf Club.
