Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi will visit China on Wednesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.
Araghchi is visiting China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
Over the past 54 years since establishing diplomatic ties, China and Iran have fostered a relationship built on mutual respect, trust and support, driving the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations while contributing to regional and global peace and stability, said Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
During the visit, the two sides will engage in in-depth discussions on China-Iran relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern, he added.
The visit is expected to play a significant role for both sides to implement the key common understanding between the two countries' leaders, deepen political trust, advance cooperation across various fields, and jointly uphold multilateralism, Guo said.
