The Longmen Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Luoyang, central China's Henan Province, stand as a pinnacle of Chinese stone carving art. Carved into the steep cliffs along the Yi River, these grottoes span over 1,500 years and represent a remarkable period in Chinese history, covering multiple dynasties. 

CGTN's Xu Jinhui went to the Longmen Grottoes with journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean. As night fell, standing before the Buddha statues carved a millennium and a half ago, reporters were awestruck by China's rich cultural and artistic heritage.
