On April 24, China marked its 10th Space Day. More than 40 side events have been packed into just under two weeks. Thailand is this year's guest country. Visitors from 41 countries and regions and international bodies gather for the forward-looking occasion. China says its program rests on "peaceful use, equality and shared benefit." To date, China has signed hundreds of cooperation documents with over 40 countries and regions and six international organizations. In an era when some spacefaring powers pull back into rival camps, China's cooperative stance gives China Space Day a resonance that reaches far beyond its own launchpads.
