The 15th Beijing International Film Festival is taking place in Beijing from April 18-26. 2025 marks the 130th anniversary of world cinema and the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema.
Adel, a Kyrgyz student at Tsinghua University, shared her favorite Chinese films and impressions of the country with CGTN. "Better Days" was the first Chinese film she watched, and she also loves "Ne Zha" and "Big World." She describes "Ne Zha" as visually stunning and emotionally rich, while "Big World" left a lasting impact with its gentle yet powerful storytelling.
Adel also expressed her admiration for young Chinese actors and directors. She hopes to see more films exploring themes of family, identity, and personal growth, especially true stories that reflect the diverse lives of young people across China.
