From the darkness emerged Pangu – the first giant of Chinese mythology. With a mighty axe, he split the cosmic void: the lighter essence rose to become the sky, the heavier sank to form the earth.
To keep them apart, Pangu stood tall for thousands of years, his body stretched between heaven and earth.
When his mission was complete, his body transformed: his breath became the wind, his voice the thunder, and his eyes the sun and moon.
