The Trump administration has carried out a so-called "reciprocal tariffs" trade policy starting April 2. The tariffs did not sit well with some political and business leaders. They have voiced strong concerns over raising trade barriers amid global economic recovery, warning that these self-imposed hurdles could severely destabilize global supply chains and undermine long-term economic growth.
