It's breeding season for grey herons in Shuiquan Village on the outskirts of Changzhi City, north China's Shanxi Province. A large number of herons are nesting high in the trees, turning the forest into a lively wildlife nursery. The heron mom and dad share the work of hatching eggs and raising their chicks. During the annual breeding season, the herons' beaks turn bright orange-red, and long plumes grow from the backs of their heads.
