What's so special about China's Tianwen-2 mission? The AI robot Taikobot gives the answer. China is going to conduct its first asteroid flyby and sample-return mission. The probe will make close-range observations of the near-Earth asteroid 2016 HO3, analyzing its topography and material composition from a few hundred meters away, and collect surface samples to send back to Earth. These findings will help scientists study asteroid formation, evolution and solar system patterns. The Tianwen-2 mission will also proceed to a main-belt comet for remote sensing analysis.
