CNN's Fareed Zakaria criticized the talent polices of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration, saying they are driving a scientific brain drain. He said students face deportation and Chinese graduate students and researchers endure constant scrutiny from Federal Bureau of Investigation, while China offers attractive incentives to lure back talent. Citing a Nature magazine survey, Zakaria noted that 75 percent of over 1,600 American researchers were considering leaving the U.S. He warned that these policies are dismantling the foundation of America's century-long scientific dominance in just 100 days.
