The death toll from a powerful explosion at Iran's largest port, Bandar Abbas, has risen to at least 40, with more than 1,200 people injured, state media reported on Sunday. Saturday's blast occurred in the Shahid Rajaee section of the port, Iran's largest container hub, shattering windows for several kilometers, tearing metal strips off shipping containers, and causing significant damage to goods inside. Iranian authorities have declared a state of emergency in Bandar Abbas.
