The Chu Silk Manuscripts, China's version of the Dead Sea Scrolls, date back to 300 BC. Unearthed in Hunan Province in 1942, these priceless treasures were lured away by an American and then smuggled to the U.S. After changing hands multiple times, they still remain in Washington D.C. Today, several American scholars have made impassioned appeals urging for their repatriation.
