Chengdu World Games welcomes 100-day countdown on Tuesday

China will host the 12th edition of The World Games from August 7th to 17th with the opening ceremony exactly 100-days away on Tuesday.

Vice chairperson of the Organizing Committee and vice minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, Li Jing, led a conference on Tuesday to brief the media about the latest preparation. The Games will feature 34 major events, 60 sub-events and 255 minor events. The layout of the venues has been determined with 21 out of 27 receiving upgrades. 25 test activities have been organized and will offer a chance for everything to be put through its paces.

For the host nation, about 330 athletes will take part. The World Games is comprised of events not included in the Olympics with the largest number of participants coming from the Chinese delegation.
