Beyond ACG: When translators face the era of change

Chinese cultural products, such as the country's first triple-A video game, "Black Myth: Wukong," and the animated film "Ne Zha 2," have been gaining a wider global following in recent years. However, translators, whose job is to adapt the original Chinese products to cater to users across the globe, say they still face a bottleneck issue: A lot gets lost in the translation process.

CGTN spoke to Wang Zhongyi, a senior translator, and Min Yi, a standing director of the Translators Association of China.

What should translators do to meet the growing demand for Chinese cultural exports, and how should they adapt to the era of AI?
