Chinese FM Wang Yi praises Cuba's anti-hegemony stance, vows continued support

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi lauded Cuba's defiance of hegemony and its defense of national sovereignty as he met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday.

Noting that China and Cuba are good comrades and partners, Wang said China will continue to support Cuba's fight against foreign interference and economic blockades.

China stands ready to deepen cooperation with Cuba across all fields to enhance Cuba's self-driven development capacity, he said.

Rodriguez emphasized the profound friendship between Cuba and China, noting that despite a shifting international landscape, the two sides have always steadfastly supported each other and walked hand in hand on the path of socialism. 

He thanked China for its long-standing trust and assistance and expressed Cuba's willingness to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen solidarity and collaboration, and seek continued Chinese support in its national development and revitalization.
