Over 50,000 Los Angeles County workers demanding higher pay went on strike again on April 29. It caused closures or disruptions at libraries, healthcare clinics and administrative offices. The strike that began a day earlier followed failed negotiations for a new contract after the last one expired in March. Over 1,000 workers marched through downtown LA while pickets were planned at dozens of sites countywide.
