During this year's Labor Day Golden Week, Xinjiang, China's largest cotton-producing region, sees a busy period in its cotton cultivation season. Empowered by mechanized plowing, planting and AI-driven management, cotton farming has become less labor-intensive but technologically advanced, seeing higher productivity. As one of the world's leading cotton production bases, Xinjiang reported a cotton output of 5.69 million tonnes in 2024, accounting for over one-fifth of the world's total.
