In Friday's women's solo free final, Xu Huiyan delivered an impeccable performance to capture the title with 218.8438 points, more than 18 points clear of second-placed Mari Alavidze of Georgia. The victory marked the second gold medal for Xu at this event, after the 19-year-old also won the solo technical title on Thursday.
