Trade between China and the European Union has surged from $2.4 billion in 1975 to $780 billion in 2024. Despite rising unilateralism and geopolitical tensions, the two remain each other's second-largest trading partner. At a CGTN roundtable on 50 years of China-EU relations, Joël Ruet, the president of The Bridge Tank from France, says the sustained growth in bilateral trade is underpinned by resilience in people-to-people ties.
