Conegliano clinched back-to-back titles at the Confederation of European Volleyball (CEV) Women's Champions League Final in Istanbul, after beating fellow Italian club Scandicci 3-0, with Chinese spiker Zhu Ting named as the continental tournament's Most Valuable Outside Hitter.
Conegliano had already won four trophies this season, including the Super Cup, Club World Cup, Italian Cup, and Scudetto. They maintained their momentum to claim the opening set 25-16.
The second frame was closer, but Conegliano were still the better side, prevailing 25-21 with a huge block at the net.
In the third set, a cross-court spike from Zhu helped the defending champions take a 22-19 lead. The Chinese spiker scored 14 points in the match, and also contributed a winning block as Conegliano sealed the deal 25-19.
The victory marks the third Champions League title for the Panthers, who have won five trophies in a single season for the first time, completing a resounding Super Grand Slam of successes.
