Gene Seroka, executive director of the Port of Los Angeles, warns that the tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump's administration are choking container traffic and imperiling dock workers' livelihoods. "Every four containers mean a job," Seroka explains, noting that truckers are already hauling fewer loads and dock workers face shorter shifts. Even if a deal is struck, it would take a month to resume normal operations, delaying spring and summer fashion deliveries. Seroka stressed the urgency of a resolution to avoid further economic impact.
