In 1948, the International Red Cross designated May 8 – the birthday of its founder, Henry Dunant – as World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. That same year, the World Federation for Mental Health also declared May 8 as World Smile Day. Since then, this date has carried a dual meaning: a day to honor humanitarian spirit, and a reminder of the quiet strength of a simple smile.
On this special day, children from different parts of the China are celebrating with their brightest smiles. Their happy faces bring joy and a sense of warmth wherever they appear.
