Vague and evasive. Callous and irresponsible. This is how the United States is behaving on the tariffs. Would anyone expect it, being in such a state, to face the reality pragmatically in the tariff talks with China? It is true that tariffs are a complex subject that cannot be resolved overnight. But mixing it with structural issues, ideology, personal vanity and political ambition will only create chaos and accomplish nothing. We can cheer for the progress made. But we must always be prepared to defend and strike.
