Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday met with Myanmar's leader Min Aung Hlaing on the sidelines of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet Union's Great Patriotic War. China will work with Myanmar to deepen the building of a community with a shared future, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, bringing greater benefits to the people of the two countries, Xi said.
Min Aung Hlaing said that after Myanmar was struck by the earthquake, China immediately extended sincere condolences and was the first to provide disaster relief assistance to his country, which the people of Myanmar will forever remember. Myanmar highly appreciates the three global initiatives proposed by China and the vision of building a community with a shared future with neighboring countries and stands ready to work with China to address common challenges, he added.
