Over the past decade, since the establishment of the China-CELAC Forum in 2015, relations between China and Latin America and the Caribbean have deepened significantly – economically, politically and culturally.

China has become one of the region's most vital trading partners, with expanding trade, direct investment in strategic sectors like infrastructure, energy, mining, technology and financing for transformative development projects. Meanwhile, multiple Latin American nations have signed memorandums of understanding with China, strengthening cooperation in connectivity, education and public health.

CGTN now presents a promotional video of "Hands Across the Pacific: The First Decade of an Extraordinary Partnership," a documentary celebrating 10 years of collaboration between China and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Through powerful real-life stories – from the booming Chilean cherry trade in China to groundbreaking environmental conservation in Mexico and landmark satellite projects in Bolivia and Brazil – the film captures how this partnership has reshaped lives and communities. Every frame reflects the shared spirit of innovation, friendship and progress that defines this extraordinary partnership.

Spanning technology, culture, trade and sustainability, the documentary showcases milestone achievements in this transcontinental collaboration. Flagship initiatives such as Peru's Port of Chancay, set to become a pivotal maritime and land bridge between Asia and Latin America, highlight the vast potential of enhanced connectivity. Meanwhile, El Salvador's striking new National Library stands as both an architectural marvel and a testament to deepening cultural ties.

Through the voices of leaders, experts and ordinary people, the film reveals how these ventures have unlocked opportunities and improved livelihoods across the hemisphere.

More than a chronicle of past successes, "Hands Across the Pacific: The First Decade of an Extraordinary Partnership" looks boldly toward the future. This documentary is an invitation to keep forging bonds of cooperation – proving that when two worlds unite across the ocean, extraordinary possibilities emerge.

A story of ambition, solidarity and shared future awaits. Full episode will be aired on May 13. Stay tuned!
