The 35th Dalian Marathon kicked off in the city of Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province on Sunday morning, serving as a prime example of the integration of sports, culture and tourism.
This year's event attracted 33,000 participants from 55 countries and regions, including 430 international runners. Notably, athletes from Ethiopia and Kenya delivered outstanding performances, securing the top spots in both the full and half marathon categories.

Dalian welcomed runners from across the globe with its beautiful May weather, professional organization and openness.
Hundreds of medical workers and tens of thousands of volunteers were deployed on-site to ensure runners' safety. Along the running routes, culture shows were arranged to cheer on runners and visitors.

This month, Dalian is also offering runners and visitors discounts on tourist attractions, merchandise, food and accommodation.
