- Pakistan and India announced on Saturday that they had agreed to an immediate ceasefire, following four days of military strikes on each other.

- Within hours, both sides traded accusations of ceasefire violations, as explosions were reported in border cities and towns.

- China hopes for and supports an early ceasefire between Pakistan and India, and is willing to continue playing a constructive role in this regard, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Saturday.
