Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil in Beijing on Monday.
Wang described China and Venezuela as trusted friends and strategic partners, highlighting their strong relationship amid global challenges.
Noting the two heads of state have set the direction for future bilateral ties, Wang said China is ready to work with Venezuela to implement their leaders' consensus and deliver concrete results for both countries.
The Chinese foreign minister praised Venezuela's independent development efforts and expressed support for closer cooperation under multilateral frameworks. He welcomed more Venezuelan products into the Chinese market and called for stronger ties in agriculture, trade, and energy.
Wang also emphasized Latin America's growing global role, reaffirming China's support for regional unity and opposition to hegemonism.
He also praised Venezuela's active participation in the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum.
Gil expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral cooperation and praised China's role in promoting peace and development.
