Beijing is gearing up to host leaders and diplomats from Latin America and the Caribbean ahead of the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum on May 13. Wang Yiwei, director of the Institute of International Affairs at Renmin University of China and senior research fellow at the Taihe Institute, says the forum will strengthen ties between China and countries in Latin America and the Caribbean amid ongoing tariff tensions.
