The 2025 Esports World Cup will take place in early July in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring top global esports teams across the world competing for championships in dozens of popular games including Honor of Kings, League of Legends and Street Fighter.

Huang Cheng, head of the King of Glory Professional League, highlighted the surging demand for Chinese esports culture. He noted that tickets for the King Pro League Spring 2025 finals sold out within just two minutes, with over 80 percent of attendees traveling from other cities.

Beyond the arena, young esports enthusiasts are driving a consumption boom through city-wide activities. From landmark pilgrimages and culinary quests to merchandise mania, blending digital culture with urban tourism. Huang also emphasized the KPL's growing cross-cultural opportunities, from the Hangzhou Asian Games to the upcoming 2027 Esports Olympics in Saudi Arabia.
