U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a two-hour phone call on Monday to discuss a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict. Putin said Moscow is ready to work with Kyiv on a memorandum on a potential future peace agreement, but compromises need to be made on both sides. Zhang Xin from the School of Politics and International Relations at East China Normal University in Shanghai said the gap between the two sides is still too large for a peace deal to be realized.
