Liang Jianjun, China's deputy director-general for Asian affairs, addressed concerns about Chinese goods "flooding neighboring markets due to tariff wars" at a briefing on Tuesday. He said that the U.S. started its trade war against China in 2017. Since then, America's share of Chinese exports has fallen from 16.2 percent to 14.6 percent, while ASEAN's share grew steadily from 12 percent to 15 percent – with no market disruption.
