With China now extending its visa-free policy to nationals from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay on a trial basis from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, it’s becoming easier for South American visitors to explore the natural beauty of China.

Both China and South America boast magnificent natural beauty. When it comes to famous waterfalls, many people think of Iguazu Falls – one of the world's most spectacular natural sights, located on the border between Brazil and Argentina.

The Iguazu Falls span nearly three kilometers and consist of 275 individual waterfalls. The gushing waters create a powerful roar and a towering mist. The most famous section is the "Devil’s Throat," a U-shaped drop about 80 meters high. From the viewing platform, visitors are surrounded by water, sound, and spray – a truly unforgettable experience.

In China, there is also a world-class waterfall – Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guizhou Province. It is one of the largest and most iconic waterfalls in the country, with a main drop of 77.8 meters in height and 101 meters in width. The water crashes down with a thunderous sound that can be heard from afar.

The area around Huangguoshu features typical karst landscape, with green hills and flowing rivers forming a picturesque setting. The best time to visit is during summer and autumn when the water volume is high, and the falls are at their most impressive.
